When I decided to come to RIT over 3 years ago, I had no clue what I wanted to study. I found my way into a program called New Media IT...After about 2 quarters I crossed over to another department in the "New Media" field, called New Media Publishing. When I first entered the program I had no clue what possibilities/jobs awaited me after graduation...I still don't know all that awaits me after college, but I hear of new jobs that are opening in my field every day.

2 years ago I would tell people I am a New Media Publishing major. They would give me blank stares, nod their head and say "oh, very nice." Even today people don't understand the demand for people in this field of "New Media," though I am confident I will find work after my time here at RIT. There will always be a high demand for jobs in the media, new or old.

I remember one person telling me how RIT always has such "interesting" programs for their students. How RIT prepares us for all that is and can become high demand positions at major companies.

Interesting video, I remember watching it earlier this year when someone posted it on the blog. They mentions some scary facts in this video: "By 2049, a $1000 computer will exceed the computational capabilities of the entire human species." Damn...
