The most important aspect of social media is keeping a person's attention. Most people prefer humor, as evidenced by the onslaught of funny ads (or some just trying to be funny). To keep a person's interest piqued, a bit of mystery often gets people talking.
This youtube series from user 'iamamiwhoami' has posted 8 videos, each more bizarre than the next. The videos have each been seen by around 250,000 people, and has many users questioning who the videos come from.
