Internet Set to Change to International Domain Names

Posted by Leo Lei in

This article talks about how the Internet Corporation for Assigned Names and Numbers (ICANN) wants to implement international domain names that can be written in languages other than English. This non-profit group oversees domain names and is meeting in Seoul to discuss whether to allow, for the first time, Internet addresses to be based on scripts instead of Latin letters. If approved, the first entries will be set sometime in mid 2010. They say they have already started testing and are confident that it is effective. More information in the original source.
