Facebook Aims for PS3, While Twitter Taps Xbox

Always gotta do at least one article on Facebook =D

Ok so I am not one who knows a whole lot about game consoles or anything, but it seems like they are making a move in a good direction. Since games are beginning to be more and more internet based, with users being able to connect with users around the world, it makes sense to incorporate social media sites like Twitter and Facebook to make it more... social? Haha.

Anyway, the dashboard improvements will be a great addition if it indeed increases usability.

Heh, will social media invade everything? You can bet all sorts of data will be available from this connectivitiy, such as what games an individual plays and for how long, likes and dislikes about various games as reported via twitter and facebook and so on. Probably they do it already, but still it may not sit well for us introverted gamers who like to play our games in "private." There's nothing so personal to a gamer as the reasons why he or she plays a certain set of games, and this sort of marketing campaign may hit too close to the truth for some people, or at least hit too quickly.
