Video games and social media have both seen mammoth growth trends within the last few years, and now, video game giant "EA" has bought out "Playfish," a social gaming manufacturer of Pet Society and Restaurant City. Kind of like Second Life, Playfish generates revenue through sales of virtual goods and advertising. There are still many social gaming competitors out in the open, including Zynga, which spends around $50 million in advertisements on Facebook. The problem is that there are more social gaming companies than video game publishers who are willing to pay a $300 million price tag, "In other words, we still don't know who the next real winner will be."
