Posted by Anonymous in , , , , ,

ComScore released stats May 13 showing the social network led all online publishers in the U.S. with 176 billion display ad impressions for the first quarter of 2010, good for a 16.2 percent market share. Yahoo came in second with 132 billion impressions, or 12.1 percent of the market. Microsoft is No. 3 with 60 billion impressions, or a 5.5 percent share. Facebook is Taking Over the WORLD

Posted by Anonymous in , , , , ,

Last year Facebook pushed AOL out of its position as 4th largest Web property in the world. In the single month of December 2009 Facebook gained 31 million unique vistors, which is more than Yahoo gained the entire year. The number 1 and 2 spots for largest Web properties are currently held by Google and Microsoft with Yahoo coming in third and Facebook right on it's tail.

If Facebook attracts half as many unique visitors next year as it did this year and Yahoo remains at a constant pace then Facebook will be taking third place within a year from now. Facebook continues to grow while other sites are maintaining a relatively mellow growth rate. It is intersting to see one of the largest web properties in the world as a social networking site rather than news or information gathering sites. For more information, click here.

Bing's Market Share Drops

Posted by Mark in , , , , ,

In the month of September, Microsoft's search engine, Bing, has stopped growing. Bing currently holds an 8.96% share of the search engine market while Yahoo stands steady at second with 16.38% and Google holds a dominating lead on the market with a share of 71.08%. Microsoft has poured lots and lots of money into Bing in hopes of consuming a large percentage of Google users with its promises of a "decision" engine but has largely failed. If Microsoft and Yahoo go through with their deal of a Microsoft purchase of Yahoo, Microsoft would eventually raise their stake to 25%.
