Last.fm internet radio station launches in 4 cities

Posted by Annessa in , ,

Last.fm, an internet radio station that tracks the songs users listen to, has decided to launch user-powered radio stations in New York, San Francisco, Los Angeles, and Chicago. The radio stations plan to play popular songs on Last.fm, as well as user recommended songs.

As a user of Last.fm, I find it interesting that a website whose content is powered by social media is able to transition itself into another medium. Not only will this increase Last.fm's overall popularity, but the user recommendations will help to promote musicians who would otherwise remain unknown.
