Secret Internet Copyright Treaty
Posted by Leo Lei in Digg, Internet
I just stumbled upon this post that was at the top of Digg. It basically discloses the contents of the Anti-Counterfeiting Trade Agreement within the Obama administration, and it none of it sounds good. Firstly, ISPs have to constantly overlook user-contributed content, such as pictures or videos, which would mean that services such as YouTube and Flickr would not be able to exist. It also says that copyright infringers will be cut off from the Internet, "This means that your entire family could be denied to the internet -- and hence to civic participation, health information, education, communications, and their means of earning a living." There is more at the link.
