My WebWill

My WebWill is a new service that will soon be available for anyone who is interested in controlling their online life after death. This Swedish company allows you to be in control of your social network accounts, blogs and photos after you die. First, you have to register and then you have to choose the sites you want to change after your death. You can prepare a final tweet, a status update, send an email to your contacts or even deactivate your accounts. Then you can even choose how long after your death you want your changes to be executed. One week? Two weeks? A month?

The basic service is free and includes the deactivation of ten accounts and the option of sending five emails to your friends. The premium service will cost approximately $30 a year and includes a detailed management of all your accounts as well as unlimited emails and deactivations.

This is a growing market opportunity because it allows you to manage your online accounts for posterity.

Having the chance to email a friend/family after dying is beyond creative!

I can foresee success for this new service (no surprise there!) considering that nowadays even the silliest applications become popular. On the other hand, I'm intrigued by how will this new service know if you are dead? or how serious will these messages be in case of using them to accuse someone?
