Viral marketing campaigns have become incredibly popular due to their typically inexpensive launch rates and potential for huge success. They can create not only buzz and brand awareness but also great profits if executed well. While most of them are youtube videos, a couple aren't even online. These ten campaigns are some of the best examples and some of them weren't even intentional. I am actually shocked at how far Apple is taking this "leaked" iphone prototype thing. If anything it has created a huge amount of buzz for the product and tons of media coverage and brand visibility (not that Apple has an issue with that). It would seem as though Apple would do better with using this to their advantage rather than pursue legal actions against bloggers and online leaders, who have always tended to be Apple biggest supporters and unintentional marketers. This whole lawsuit seems like it will just alienate Apple's customers, I know it has for me.
